Below are some examples of assignments completed by Dokumentera.

Outsourcing of document production

Dokumentera had the privilege to be asked to take over the operational responsibility for the documentation department at one of the largest companies in Sweden.
The customer’s new system for parts of the range of products included tools as well as control and monitoring units. The documentation consisted of product and user documentation which was produced based on CMS for publishing on web, DVD, and in print.
Target group analyses were carried out to get a picture of who the users of the products would be and how and when they would use them. The analyses resulted in an adaptation of software, control units, and documentation for selected user profiles.

Study - Document management system

On the customer’s behalf, Dokumentera carried out a large study before introducing a new document management system that included a writer’s environment and web publishing. Great importance was put on getting a complete picture of available solutions on the market. The study included around one hundred suppliers from which about 15 were selected. Of the five suppliers that the customer negotiated with, an SaaS solution (Software as a Service) was chosen.

User and system documentation, and information structuring

During this project, Dokumentera produced user and system documentation related to:

Infrastructure (system maps, servers, networks, storage, production, and tests)
Applications (databases, schedules for batch jobs, source code, SLA, backup, permissions)
User manuals for current applications

Templates for continued documentation in Wiki and Microsoft Word were also created.
Initially, in this project an extensive structuring and implementation of an IT Wiki based on the software MediaWiki was carried out.

System and operational documentation

Dokumentera produced system and operational documentation in a Wiki (Microsoft Sharepoint 2007). The documentation included areas relevant for development, test, technology and operation, as well as documentation which were general and common for the IT department of the customer.

Business and finance processes for the business areas were documented as well (in Microsoft Visio) and published on the Intranet in the form of flowcharts.

System documentation

Dokumentera had the opportunity to assist a customer with the production of IT system administration documentation. The assignment included the following: together with responsible administrators, defined important areas which needed to be described in order to guarantee a secure and stable administration, as well as documented the system’s compliance with the applied IT policy of the company. The information was gathered in a template, which was then used for all systems at the department.

Product information

Dokumentera was asked to produce product information for a large technological company within installation products, tools, and machines industry. Based on material written in English and German, product information in Swedish was produced in a new template/design for one of their products.

Translations

One of our established customers who regularly present us with new, exciting assignments is a pharmaceutical company with manufacturing in the Stockholm area. From time to time, Dokumentera assists this company with translations of production materials from Swedish to English.
